It's been one week

Happy one week anniversary!

So, finally moved into the apartment last week. Everything is still a mess. Stuff in boxes, boxes and more boxes. I thought that I'd have more time to clean up and sort out stuff once I'm there but that hasn't been the case.

Yes! My laziness has kicked in yet again.

That; accompanied by the completed download of 23 books of Skip Beat! I'm almost done with that and there's already 2 other procrastinating projects awaiting. LOL

I should really start on unpacking those boxes BEFORE I start on those projects.

It's been pretty nice nonetheless.

Still open to donations of TV rack, TV, vacuum cleaner, etc, etc ...

On the lookout for shorts

12:41:00 PM Reporter: Empress 6 Responses
Does anyone know where I can go to look for a new pair (or two) of shorts?

I call them going-out shorts as opposed to working/at-home shorts. Y'know, the dressier ones where you pair it up with a killer pair of heels and your friends think you're over dressed?

The last pair of going-out shorts I had was from a little shop in Asian Avenue in Sunway Pyramid. Didn't see any that caught my eyes when I went there last. The fad must have faded.

But I've always liked shorts.

In a hot hot country like this, shorts and tank tops are like staple wear for me. I wear them so much that even my semi-going-out shorts have tears in them and is now fit for the trash.

So ...
... gimme links
... gimme shop names and location

... cause I'm just too lazy waste time going to the shops and seeing nothing I like.

Shining and bleak

Shining ...
... the apartment is almost livable. Well, it's livable now but there's a problem with the tap outlet of the dry kitchen which I hope will be resolved this weekend.

So, possible move in this weekend.

Bleak ...
... on the work front, there has been some bad news coming in. Not able to disclose it as yet but it's not looking good.

Sad.

Worried.

Test before you assume

4. Question authority.

... One of the oldest living renegades, Siddhartha Gautama (also known as the Buddha) once said, “Do not believe anything that you’ve been told, unless it agrees with your own common sense.” The same advice applies 2,000 years later. Listen to yourself first, before you listen to the experts. Test before you assume.
Jonathan Mead's article in Zen Habits lists this as one of the traits of the Free Man.

The liong-liong that charbo and I went to calls this subborness. In fact, that's about the only thing she kept repeating, I have to stop being so stubborn and listen and follow what people says.

She mentioned that I would attempt something despite other's advise against it; even though there is a high possibility of failure and that I KNOW that it would fail. Just so that I prove it to myself that it indeed does not work!

I don't see a problem with that.

If you don't touch a boiling kettle, how do you know for a fact that it would burn?

How do you make additional moolah without having a second job?

6:41:00 PM Reporter: Empress 0 Responses
The cost of the kitchen is just escalating. Mom says that I shouldn't keep complaining that CuzS is expensive but what do you do when it's fact?

At this rate, I'm just 'yes-ing' to everything that I originally wanted anyway and be damned the cost cause I want to get it over with. My tiny (well, maybe not so tiny) kitchen is about to cost as much as my brother's which is probably 1.5 times bigger than mine.

*sigh* So, now, how do I pay for it? Is it possible to earn anything this way? Maybe not to the extreme of everything but I know I have lots of things that are still usable but I no longer use.

If these were my stuff, would you buy them for maybe RM5/RM10 a piece? Pick-up only?

calliepod might be dying

4:20:00 PM Reporter: Empress 0 Responses
I think calliepod is dying.

Half the time I plug it in to pull new songs from iTunes, she just hangs.

She doesn't load in iTunes; in fact, she kills iTunes. The 'Do not disconnect' remains constantly on screen with no graceful way of ejecting her from the PC. It remains after you pull off the cables and there's no way to turn her off except to wait for her powers to drain.

She seems to have a spurt of life after the power drain but on the next connection to iTunes, she just dies again. :(

Must make room to transfer everything from calliepod soon. Lest I loose everything I have entrusted to her.

No! No! You're still too young!

NOOOO!!!!
